PoE and PoE+ IP surveillance cameras and Wireless Access Points are installed throughout a large facility. A Network switch with fiber ports is used to distribute a fiber link from a control room to a OmniConverter media converter with dual fiber ports. The second fiber port on the OmniConverter is used to cascade the fiber to the next location, where an OmniConverter media converter with one fiber port terminates the fiber.
OmniConverter 10/100/1000 PoE Switches and PoE Media Converters enable distance extension over fiber optic cabling to network edge devices such as workstations, IP cameras and Wi-Fi routers. OmniConverter PoE Switches feature one or two fiber uplink ports and up to eight power-sourcing 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports, and are available as unmanaged or managed models. Managed models feature VLAN, rate limiting, Class of Service, Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP), and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP).
OmniConverter GXPoE+/S and GXHPoE/Sare unmanaged gigabit PoE Extenders that enable the delivery of Ethernet data and Power over Ethernet (PoE) beyond the standard 100 meter limit of twisted pair copper cabling.
OmniConverter PoE Extenders provide cost-effective distance extension and connectivity to remote PoE devices where external power is not available or hard to provision, or when replacing copper with fiber becomes cost prohibitive.
OmniConverter GPoE+/I is an unmanaged gigabit Ethernet power injector that will extend the Ethernet link distance and adds power over the data lines.
The OmniConverter GPoE+/I features one RJ-45 uplink port and one RJ-45 downlink IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ port. The uplink and downlink ports support 10/100/1000Mbps data rates and are capable of operating with asymmetric rates.
